Our areas of work

Development

There are opportunities to work in several areas and with many different technologies. We have a large development department in various areas with a total of about 70 employees.

Diagnostics

Diagnostics is the team that develops the underlying diagnostic functionality on which all our services are based and which underpins the functionality we can offer.

Application

Application is the team that develops our desktop applications. There is rapid development and new, improved products are constantly being planned.

Online Application

The Online Application team develop the services and applications that we offer our customers via various web interfaces. The demand is high and the value of the services delivered is high.

Data Tools

The Data Tools team develops the tools mainly used by the Data Team. The aim is to streamline their daily work and ensure the quality of the data used in our products.

User Management

The User Management team focuses on the development of underlying services for the business and products. Examples such as User Management, communication interfaces for hardware, licence management, integration with third party systems, etc.

Hardware

The Hardware Team work with everything from mechanics and electronics to embedded software development. There is a lot of contact with both internal and external customers as the hardware is a common building block in the final products.

Cloud Enablement

The Cloud Enablement Team is building all the underlying infrastructure needed to develop a scalable, cost-effective and environmentally friendly platforms for cloud-based services.

Data Team

The Data Eeams process all data in our database with all vehicle types and features. For accessing car data, we perform both reverse engineering and purchase original data from the vehicle manufacturer. We use proprietary systems for building the database.

Administration

Our Admnistrational Team first and foremost take care of our financial parts. To fit in our admin department you need to be both analytical and structured in your approach. 

Sales

Are you passionate about sales, finding new business opportunities and developing customers? At the Sales Department you will have the opportunity to work close to our distributors in an international environment. 

Marketing

In the Marketing Team, you will have a varied workday. Here you work with everything from making tutorials, film production, print, website, exhibitions and social media.

Meet some of our staff

Our organisation is built around development departments working on hardware, software and diagnostics. These departments are complemented by a sales- and marketing department with an ear to the users. Add to that the group's collective expertise in vehicle diagnostics and you get an idea of what we can achieve.

Petra Borg

Diagnostic developers

I have worked as a test driver at Volvo for most of my career, and when I heard about Autocom, it felt exciting that after many miles on test tracks and a lot of functional testing, I would apply here and start working as a Diagnostics Developer with all the functions behind the vehicle.I have now worked at Autocom for ten years.

We have a relaxed and happy atmosphere in my team. We take the time to listen, discuss and help each other with all kinds of questions and situations. Everyone in our team has their own project. We work according to the project's set planning for the period. ¨

The daily work consists of development at the computer, mixed with testing on vehicles. We work a lot individually, but often assist each other in the various tasks between projects.I appreciate the mix between development at the computer and testing in vehicles, I also enjoy the travelling involved in my project.

The social community at Autocom is one of the main advantages of the workplace. I highly value my responsibility in the project and also the freedom of my work in the project. I feel a great deal of trust and security from my employer and that is important to me. Autocom is a family-orientated and healthy workplace.

The company is committed to work-life balance. We have had the privilege of becoming many more employees during the years I have been employed and the feeling that we take care of each other has always been strong.

Alexander Tanasković

Software Developer

I have lived in Gothenburg all my life. Worked as a motorbike mechanic for a while but have always been interested in programming. I used to sit in my spare time and code games on a hobby level but didn't think it would be much more than that. When I later found out that I was going to be a father, it was a bit of "it's now or never". So I applied for a programme called "Java developer" and managed to get my entire LIA period at Autocom as a .Net developer. Shortly after the LIA period was over, I then had the cruel luck to be employed at Autocom.

I have now been working at Autocom for almost 2 years, not counting the internship I had during school. In short, it has been nothing but; absolutely awesome.

The feeling in the team is great! I sit together with a nice group with a good sense of humour where everyone is super-helpful and you really feel like part of the team.

What stimulates me most in my job today is that there are always new challenges where I can learn something new. No day is the same and I have never had a job before where time goes too fast while working!

I would say the biggest advantage of working at Autocom is the understanding of toddler life. I have 2 lovely little daughters so it's very nice to know that if I suddenly need to take a day off, it's absolutely no problem.

Martin Lindblom

Group Manager

I joined Autocom as a software developer in 2004. At that time, I experienced Autocom as a rather small company where I felt I could make a difference. We are much bigger today but I still feel that everyone's voice is listened to.

Our vision is "Guiding the journey to 100% safe and sustainable vehicles on the roads" and it spills over into almost everything we do.

Autocom is a healthy company where, among other things, regular health checks are offered. In addition, you are encouraged to use your wellness hour, an hour of your weekly working time that you can use for health activities such as running, cycling, walking, going to the gym, et cetera.

One of the biggest advantages of working at Autocom is definitely the feeling of meeting nice colleagues every day. We still have the mentality of a small company where everyone knows everyone. In recent years, we have grown quite a lot. There are many different projects spread across several teams. Sometimes developers have wanted to try out new projects and then they have often been offered a place in another team. With the constant growth of the company, there have also been many other opportunities for career development. The staff club regularly organises fun activities outside of work such as after work, game nights, et cetera.

As mentioned earlier, I think we are good at listening to the people who work here, and we are keen to see what all new recruits bring with them. I still feel that each individual can make a difference.

Product Owner/Technical Support 

I have worked at Autocom for almost 15 years. For the first 10 years, I worked in diagnostic development, and a few years later I moved to Product/Support. We are a good team, who have worked at Autocom for a very long time, with a lot of expertise about the company's products. Autocom is a flexible workplace for the employee and the fact that you stay for such a long time indicates a good rating for the company

The assignment within my department includes both product responsibility and second line support towards our distributors. A support case can be anything from questions about the programme to us connecting with customers to solve problems they have. Most of the problems we solve directly, but sometimes there may be errors that need involvement from other departments such as diagnostic development, software or hardware. In such support cases, this is reported in our internal error reporting system.

Our tasks as product managers mean that we must have expertise in our product areas in order to be able to support our sales staff with information, training of our distributors and their customers, production of training materials, participation in product refinement, development of new products and participation in trade fairs.
